The shoe guide is mostly racing flats and/or minimalist shoes, which may/may not be the best for every style of runner. If you've never been fit properly for a running shoe - your best bet is to go to a running shop with video/gait analysis such as Fleet Feet, Running Away, Universal Sole, etc.
